In current changing world, Jethani has taken the role of new Saas. COLORS’ latest show, ‘Suman Indori,’ breathes life into this contemporary drama, infusing a hint of street-smart flavor into the traditional devrani-jethani conflict which aims to attract young audiences as well. Set in the heart of Madhya Pradesh, Indore, the narrative revolves around Suman, a kind-hearted individual. Destined to become the reluctant bride of Teerth, a shrewd politician from a prominent family, Suman must navigate her new role as a daughter-in-law while contending with Devika, the assertive Jethani who aims to establish herself as the matriarch and perceives Suman as a threat to the family legacy. Featuring Ashnoor Kaur as the spirited Suman, Zain Imam as the politically astute Teerth, and Anita Hassanandani as the formidable Devika, ‘Suman Indori’ promises a riveting blend of emotions, power struggles, and familial conflicts, offering a fresh perspective on the unique ‘devrani-jethani’ relationship.

Expressing her enthusiasm for portraying Suman, Ashnoor Kaur remarks, “I am ecstatic to introduce ‘Suman Indori’ to the audience! This show marks my comeback on television after 3 years and I think this show is perfect and I am excited about the show. Portraying Suman, a spirited chaat vendor whose life undergoes a dramatic transformation, has been an exhilarating experience. The vibrant ambiance of Indore serves as the perfect backdrop for this rollercoaster of emotions and family dynamics. I have developed a deep affection for this city during our shoot – the city’s vitality and the warmth of its residents will be evident in every scene of our show. I am eager to embark on this thrilling journey with our viewers!”

Reflecting on her involvement in the show, Devika aka Anita Hassanandani shares, ”In the game of ‘ghar ki rajneeti’, Devika plays to win. In ‘Suman Indori’, I will be seen embodying this powerhouse jethani who’s more than just the eldest daughter-in-law – she’s the puppet master of her family. From dinner menus to political campaigns, Devika pulls every string with unapologetic ambition. It’s her ruthless maneuvering against her devrani that truly sets her apart, making this show a captivating power play that viewers won’t be able to resist.”

‘Suman Indori’ will air on 3rd September at 6:30 PM from Monday to Sunday only on COLORS
