On COLORS’ ‘Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment’, the kitchen sweetens Mother’s Day with emotion, nostalgia, and the kind of love only a maa can serve. With the theme dedicated entirely to mothers, the episode turns into a warm, chaotic, tear-soaked celebration of Maa Ke Haath Ka Khaana. Nia, Jannat, Arjun, Ankita, Abhishek, Tejasswi and Samarth’s mothers’ step into the spotlight – many for the first time, turning the kitchen confessions, pride, unresolved complaints, and unconditional affection. Before the burners are lit, every celeb contestant introduces their mother, showering her with words they perhaps never say enough. In return, the mothers speak their truth – things they’ve always wanted to say to their children, now finally heard on national television.

The culinary challenge is deceptively simple: Aate ka Halwa, judged on ghee ka aroma, smooth texture, signature deep brown colour, perfect mithaas. But with mothers watching, lending a helping hand and later tasting alongside Bharti Singh and Chef Harpal, every attempt feels loaded with expectation. Ankita Lokhande raises the emotional tempo by singing, as Krushna Abhishek and Ankita’s mother dance with abandon. The moment crescendos when Ankita’s mom performs on ‘Ami Je Tomar’. Arjun Bijlani, meanwhile, flips the script by teaching his mother how to lift weights – proof that roles sometimes reverse, but strength remains inherited.

What follows is a string of beautiful performances. Jannat Zubair speaks about becoming who she is because of her parents’ support since childhood after which her mother shocks everyone by trying nunchaku for the first time. Abhishek Kumar opens up about his mother’s faith in him when he left home to pursue acting as a profession. Nia’s mother surprises all with a hula hoop act, while also playfully teasing Sudesh, proving sass clearly runs in the family. Arjun’s mom dances to ‘Jalwa’, radiating joy. A visibly emotional Tejasswi Prakash says that no amount of words are enough for her mother, who then stuns everyone by rapping/singing in Marathi, owning the stage with effortless confidence. Just when emotions peak, Bharti Singh storms in to ‘Bhoombro’, dressed as Aly Goni’s mom, dupatta on her head, hugging him and repeatedly calling him “meri jaan,” turning affection into comedy gold.
Abhishek Kumar says, “My mother is usually camera-shy, but she is happiest to accompany me and get a peek at my workday. When I told my mother I wanted to leave everything familiar and come to Mumbai to become an actor, she didn’t ask for a plan; she just said ‘ja, main hoon na.’ That faith became my daily inspiration. Even when I had nothing but uncertainty, her belief carried me through my toughest days. If I’ve made it this far, it’s because she chose to trust my dreams even before the world did.”
Tejasswi Prakash says, “Whatever I say about my mother will always feel incomplete, because this kind of love is simply too big to be articulated. She has been my rock and shield. Everything I am today carries her imprint, her sacrifices, and her strength. Having her join me on this show that brings me the most joy is a memory to cherish for life.”
