Cricket fever grips COLORS’ ‘Mangal Lakshmi’, turning the pitch into a battleground of disguises, deception, and daring drama. Garnering a lot of love for nailing the title role, Deepika Singh bowls the ultimate googly, stealing the spotlight in a never-seen-before avatar of a cricketer. In the show’s current track, the battle lines are drawn and loyalties divided as Hindustan Hunters take on Chak De Squad in a high-voltage cricket showdown that’s anything but friendly. Adit is in the Hunters’ camp, while Mangal is with Chak De Squad – not just to win the match, but to win a far more lethal game off the field. Unknown to most, the match is merely a cover for Adit’s smuggling plan, one that he believes is foolproof… until Mangal steps in.

Determined to foil Adit’s plan, Mangal pulls off her boldest move yet – a complete transformation. To infiltrate the opposing camp and stay one step ahead, she dons the guise of a Punjabi cricketer, stepping onto the field disguised as one of Chak De Squad’s players. With the pagdi tied, beard in place, and body language altered, Deepika’s striking new look is a total scene-stealer, adding layers of intrigue and thrill to the storyline. But the real test is about keeping her identity hidden. Even as Adit rigs the game to ensure his victory, Mangal is playing a far riskier innings. She must bust his cover right under his nose, navigating close calls, suspicious glances, and nail-biting moments, all while ensuring her disguise doesn’t slip for even a second. Will Mangal successfully expose Adit before the final over? Or will one wrong move cost her everything?
Sharing her experience of getting into a new look, Deepika Singh says, “It was my first time playing cricket and what an experience it has been! I’ve watched the game all my life, but actually stepping onto the pitch and holding my stance while batting – that’s a completely different ball game altogether. I pulled it off with the support of a brilliant team. This marked the first time I sported a sardar’s look. Shooting in that scorching heat with a glued-on beard was super challenging. But doing that and even speaking Punjabi on screen pushed me far out of my comfort zone – and that’s exactly what I love about being an actor. What made this track fun was my co-actors, many of whom are massive cricket fans. They became my cheer squad, helping me with body language, posture, and even little cricketing nuances that really mattered on screen. The audience has always showered so much love on every new look I’ve tried, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how they react to this one. With this cricket track, my only hope is to entertain them, surprise them, and give them yet another reason to enjoy Mangal Lakshmi.”
