COLORS welcomes the Bacchan parivaar ki bahu in ‘Bareilly Ke Bacchan’, spotlighting what happens to a home without women

In Indian homes, a woman is often revered as Grihalakshmi – the living embodiment of Goddess Lakshmi within the household, a presence believed to bring spiritual and material prosperity. Strip a home of that presence, and what remains is survival in shambles. With its new promo of ‘Bareilly Ke Bacchan’, COLORS captures the provocative theme of a ‘world without women’ into a dramedy that wears its chaos proudly. Premiering on the 8th of June and thereafter airing Monday to Friday at 9 PM only on COLORS, the upcoming show opens the doors to the dysfunctional Bacchan parivaar, introducing viewers to a household held together by habit, denial, and chaos. A home ruled by volatile brothers and an alcoholic father, it revealed what years of male-only survival can do to a family’s emotional ecosystem. Now, the second promo shifts the spotlight to the Bacchan parivaar ki bahu.

What happens when a household runs for years without a woman and then one finally walks in? Set in the bustling lanes of Bareilly, ‘Bareilly Ke Bacchan’ answers this question through Sangam, an ambitious girl from an affluent family, played by Ramneek Kataria. Accidentally married into the Bacchan home, Sangam steps into a space that believes it functions just fine without feminine order or emotional accountability. For her husband Krishna, portrayed by Pravishth Mishra, the house is heaven on earth. For Sangam, it is chaos disguised as family. Will Sangam reclaim this house by confronting its issues, or will the Bacchan parivaar force her out before she can change anything at all?

Essaying the role of Sangam, Ramneek Kataria says, “Bareilly Ke Bacchan asks a very big question – what does a home become when it doesn’t have a woman for years? Sangam enters a house that has survived for years without a feminine presence, but survival and harmony are not the same thing. With its combustible family dynamics and humour that hits uncomfortably close to home, the promo captures Sangam as the bahu of the Bacchan parivaar, and the disruption a ‘world without women’ was never prepared for. Sometimes, all it takes is one woman walking in to reveal everything that’s been missing.”
