He is not just playing a singer, he is slowly becoming one, making every moment of Ishaan’s journey feel more genuine and heartfelt for viewers.
Rohit Chandel shared, “Playing Ishaan has been a very interesting journey because I didn’t want to model him after any existing singer or performer. I wanted him to feel fresh, real, and unique to the world of Sairaab. While building the character, I focused on understanding his emotions, his struggles, and the things that shaped him into the person he is today. In many ways, I feel Ishaan has emerged from within me because there are certain aspects of his personality that I relate to deeply. His confidence on stage, the way he connects with people, and the way he expresses his emotions are qualities that feel very natural to me. At the same time, what makes him different is the emotional weight he carries from his past, and discovering that side of him has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey. Over time, I realised that I wasn’t just playing a singer, I was understanding the world through Ishaan’s eyes. That is what has made this role so special for me.”
